7/ 17(Taiwan)

Today is our beginning of American trip. We departed from Kaohsiung to Taipei. It took us about 4 hours. Then, we waited about 2 hours at airport. Afterwards, we were aboard our flight. We spent 12 hours on the way to destination. During this period, I felt a little bit nervous and excited because it is my first time to the States.

7/17(the States)

After taking 12 hours flight, we ended up arriving at Los Angel. It was still July seventeenth here. I felt more excited when I arrived. I felt the weather is dryer than Taiwan. Besides, here is cooler than Taiwan. I like the weather.Before long, we took the bus and left airport to the hotel. At night, we went to a famous hamburger restaurant In and Out. Indeed, their hamburger is delicious. Finally, we went back to our hotel and looked forward to tomorrow.

7/18

Today, we visited a worldwide theme park Disneyland. It is a place that family could have a good time. The facilities here are suitable for anyone. I really had good time there since I played many interesting facilities and got some souvenirs. Furthermore, there was an incredible firework show, sparking the dark sky. It was beautiful. We stayed here from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Finally, we went back to our hotel.

Today, we went to Studio Universal. It is renowned for movies. We woke up early and headed for Studio Universal at 9 a.m. When we arrived, we started visiting the celebrities’ footprint. Then, we entered there. It is also a theme park. Unlike Disneyland, the facilities here are more thrilling. I had a good time of taking roller coaster. Besides, its tutor bus is awesome. By taking tutor bus, I saw the spot for taking movies. Furthermore, we experienced the special effect in person. It was really awesome.

7/20-21

Today, we woke up early and then took a bus because we were going to our school. It was boring today as we took whole day on the way to school. We spent 8 hours on the bus. At night, we eventually arrived. The dorm is great. Then, I slept.

It was brand new day because our purpose was to learn something. In the beginning of the day, we went to the Dinning Common to have breakfast. Then, we walked to the classroom. There were many teachers and assistances welcoming us. Afterwards, we began testing because we were divided into two classes. After that, we visited the campus. It is huge. Then, we knew the outcome of our class. At night, we had dinner in DC.

Today, we had class. The teacher called Victoria. She is kind and nice. In first class, we played some interaction games in English. It was useful for advancing our English ability. I had great time during class. In the afternoon, it was talking class. We had no careless with TAs. We only talked. It was fun. At night, we played games with teacher assistances. It was awesome. At 9 p.m., we went back to dorm for resting.

We had class in the morning. The teacher called Ben. He is kind and nice. In the beginning, he introduced himself. From his introduction, we needed to take notes. It was a way to train our listening capability. In the afternoon, we visited museum. I’ve thought it would be pretty lame. However, I had fun there. Their display was cool. We stayed about 3 hours. Then we went back. On the way, we stopped for 1 hour at the supermarket and we bought something we wanted such as soda drink. It was a great day.

Today was Victoria class. At first, we discussed some topic in English. Then, we started watching movies Shrek 2. It was a great movie. In afternoon, we had talking class. It is still fun. Today was good again.

7/ 25

Today morning, I had Ben’s class. In the beginning, he helped us review vocabulary that he taught last time by a game. I need to describe the meaning of a phrase. For instance, a phrase “veg out” means “relax”. By Ben’s class, I learn more daily conversation. Furthermore, he also instructed me to adjust my pronunciation. This class was indeed helpful. In the afternoon, assistance teachers brought us to a big ground. Then, we played soccer!! HOW TERRIFIC IT WAS!! At, we enjoyed an awesome movie “Step up 3”. It was pretty good.

7/26

Today, after finishing brunch, we went to visit Stanford University. The campus is really enormous. We stayed there about one hour. Afterwards, we headed for next destination, Apple Incorporation. Arriving there, we only spent 15 minutes taking pictures. Then, we moved to Intel museum. I was not that into so I only went its restroom. Next, we had a great snack donut. It tasted pretty well. Finishing donuts, we dropped in Google Incorporation for 40 minutes. Then, we went back our dorm. Today, I visited many successful companies, hoping someday I can own a great incorporation as well.

Today was cool and sunny. We went to San Francisco and to many tourist spots. First of all, it was a significant and enormous spot – the Golden Gate Bridge. We stopped there for 30 minutes. Secondly, we went to the Palace of Fine Art. I only wander around for 30 minutes. It was not my thing. Next, it was a crowded place- Fisherman Whalf. Many shops are around there. I bought some souvenirs such as postcards. Besides, I saw a feather of seagulls flying. It was really cool. Then, we went Lombstreet. It was steep but many cars can be parked there well. It was really amazing. Last, we went to City Hall. I saw a lot of tramps around there. I think it’s a dangerous district. After visiting, we went back our dorm. It was a really enrich day.

A brand new week started Monday. Today, we took Ben’s lesson. First of all, he told us a story. It was a common and easy story but it contained some response about conversation. It was really useful!! I liked Ben’s class since he always taught us local usage of English. I believed I wouldn’t learn in Taiwan. Afterwards, our school’s activity today was swimming. Since I was here, I haven’t done that. I love swimming. The swimming pool here is huge and good. It was great 2 hours.

Today, I had Victoria’s class. Initially, we did some interaction games. Then, we started enjoying movie-Zorro. It is a movie about a man who is good at using sword. It was a really cool and awesome movie. Unfortunately, we didn’t finish it yet so I am looking forward to next class. Afternoon, we played some creative and intriguing games. First one was blowing balloons and to crash another team’s balloons. It was exciting and interesting. Our team always lost. At least, we learned to cooperate. Second, it was special. We needed to pick one card and held in front of head. Then, others describe and I guessed. Last, we got a sheet of paper. The purpose of it was to pick up ten men. The 3 hours in this activity was so fast. Today was also a cool day. At night, we didn’t have any plans so I just played basketball with my friends.

Today was Ben’s class. In the beginning, we played a little game which was to pick up a card and answer it. It was pretty good. Then, we made a poster about travel and we played a role as agent because we presented this poster. From this game, I think my pronunciation and body language increased. After having Ben’s class, we went to an amuse park. There, I played Thunder Road. It was pretty exciting and fun. However, I spent 2 hours on the park, but I only played that. I felt pretty lamb about this place. Afterwards, we went back school. At night, we played a fun game. I had a lot of fun.

Today, I took Victoria’s lesson. We finished last movie –The Mask of Zorro. It was still exciting. It was a really good movie. Afterwards, we played a game. We were divided into two teams. Each team needed to act to opponent to guess. When they guessed right, we had to run away. This game was extremely exciting. I liked the game. By this game, we cooperated well. Then, in the afternoon, we joined in a mini Olympic. We did many competitions. Each one was very playful. Today, we will move to another dorm since we will be more safety. I hope we can be happy and safety in the rest of days.

Today was Ben’s class. During class, he taught us basic conversation. We could use these phrases during talking with other. It is useful. Then, we were divided into four groups in order to discuss our final performance- presentation. Ben helped us choose topic and taught us how to present. In afternoon, we attended in a presentation which was about applying for university. I would think of it. At night, it was movie night.

Today, we went to Sixflags where we could enjoy roller coasters and animal shows. This place is renowned for exciting facilities. I played V2. It is very thrilling as it would climb very fast and down fast as well. While taking it, my heart was pounding. After that, I felt I am brave. Later, we watched dolphin show. It was really incredible that the beautiful marine creature swam gracefully in the water. I liked the show! Staying whole day at theme park was tired but I had fun of it!

It was today that I was looking forward to since we would go shopping. In the morning, we visited an university. It was a huge campus in this place. After that, we went to Livermore Outlet where everyone expected the most and so do I. When we got there, starting shopping. I totally spent about 300 US$ there but it was worth. Today, I had fun.

It was Ben’s class. We reviewed the phrases and underwent group discussion. This week was last week so we had to prepare for the presentation. The rest of class, we all prepared for the presentation. In afternoon, we sang karaoke. Everyone enjoyed that. Then, it was conversation class. At night, it was our free time.

We took Victoria’s lesson. As usual, we watched movie but it was not my thing as I didn’t like it. In afternoon, we played a game which was to snap photo at specific spots. We ran many spots to take pictures and finally got the third prize. I had a good time of it. At night, we played Japerdy.

Today was Ben’s class. We still reviewed daily dialog with members. Then, we prepared for the presentation. In the afternoon, we went to a big supermarket called Lucky. We bought many things there. Then, when we went back, it was free time for us to take a break. At night, it was movie night.

Today was last class and it was Victoria’s class. We finished last movie and prepared for the presentation. In afternoon, it was conversation class and we played Jerpady. We had a good time. At night, we prepared for the presentation.

Today was our last day in this university. In the morning, we presented what we learned during the time we were here. After that, we said good bye to the teacher assistances. I felt really sad. In afternoon, we went to shopping again. We had fun of it. At night, we took flight back to Taiwan. I learned many things that I cannot learn from school. Thank for Shu-Te giving me this chance to the States and thank for my parents.
